Shaun Tolman – General Manager
Shaun is the founder and owner of Allianz Drilling Services. Shaun’s involvement in the drilling industry commenced in 1992 when he started working for Pontil Drilling.
He has nearly three decades (28 years) of experience in many aspects of drilling and construction, from exploration (coal & hard rock), directional (gas drainage), water well drilling, well services, water management, and commercial water filtration.
Over time, he has worked for some of Australia’s largest drilling and construction companies. He became convinced that by running a smaller specialist drilling company, he could provide clients with better service and a superior product.Shaun’s focus within the company is the safe operation of our rigs. He takes personal responsibility for the development and practice of our safety management system.
Shaun’s role is to mentor his team, provide strong leadership in the field and ensure our drilling operations are safe, efficient and productive, and the company is meeting client requirements and deadlines. Shaun is available 24/7 to both our crews and clients.

- Diploma in Oil & Gas (onshore)
- Licenced Water Bore Driller
- Cert IV Training & Assessment
- S1, S2, S3 Supervisor safety training
- Diploma Drilling Operations
- Diploma Project Management (enrolled)
- Std 11 safety induction

Our Local Bore Drilling Crew
Our rigs are staffed by a specialist team who have substantial breadth of experience across the full range of commodity types and drilling conditions.
Our team is tight, Shaun hand-picks his team of drillers, fitters and drillers assistants. They are known to him through his drilling connections and are of the highest standards. They really love the drilling game and know what it takes to be a safe, efficient and productive member of the team.
Our drilling crews are authorised and competent to execute all tasks required for their individual roles and the crew is supported by a very experienced, specialist drill fitter who is part of the crew, helping to substantially improve preventative maintenance and reduce downtime.
Support and mentoring of the crew is provided by the Operational Manager who is often found on the levers drilling, otherwise he is not far away and makes regular visits to the rig.
